The Cricket in the Violin Book

One summer, a curious cricket discovers an old violin in the forest and makes it her home, filling the woods with music beneath the moonlight. Soon, mice, moths and other little forest creatures gather to enjoy her enchanting melodies.

But when a bitterly cold winter arrives, the animals face a difficult choice. In need of firewood, they turn to the beautiful violin — only to realise, once the snow melts and the warmth returns, just how much they’ve lost.

With playful, witty and wonderfully detailed illustrations by Anna Haifisch, this charming forest fable explores the magic of music, the warmth of friendship and the little joys that make life special. A whimsical story that gently reminds us to cherish what brings us together.
